I got onto the scale this morning - I weigh 58.5 kilos. Good grief tha's not good at all. I usually weigh 55 kilos with the scale hardly ever moving anywhere close to 56. So am thinking what on earth has caused the extra unwanted 3 kilos? Not the wine, coz I drink less these days but maybe I have been eating a little more than usual, binging here and there and I haven't been exercising every day. This means, lots of exercising this weekend and no treats - aaarggghhh!
58 kilos is actually the right weight for my height and age - over 40, but I want to maintain my figure and small waist. People often say that once you cross 40 you're damned with a soft barrel or love handles. I crossed 40 a while ago and so far am still the same and I plan to stay that way for as long as I can. I guess the secret is to watch what you eat and lots of exercise. But I understand how food can get in the way. Sometimes we eat even when we're not hungry.
At lunch, with a couple of girlfriends we had nshima (an African staple food), with chicken, beans, cabagge, mashed beans and corn, smoked salmon, wine, followed by a rasberry tart and some cheese. Huh, that was a calorific meal.
What do you do after a huge meal? You drink a glass of water with one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (ACV) - you could sweeten it with a teasspoon of honey - or you could use lemon instead of ACV. And ofcourse there are several herbal teas like camomile and mint tea. After a meal like that go home in the evening to do strenuous exercises for about an hour and then I eat a light no carb meal.

So this weekend will be dedicated to exercise and NO to lunch or dinner invitations.
